Inaugurated The Sunflowers Island Residence

"Then I know: over the gardens filled, glowing, you are immense skies, the sun wasback again, with this poem by German poet Rainer Maria Rilke, Maurizio Sbrana opened the Island of Sunflowers, a residence, that consists of

12 mini-apartments which will accommodate families of children in care in oncology Pisa.

A structure intended by 'AGBALT (Parent Association for the treatment and care of children with leukemia and tumors), supported by Fondazione Cassa di Risparmio di Pisa and completed thanks to the industriousness of volunteers and the generosity ofour fellow citizens.

The name "Island of Sunflowers", for us of Voices Of Heaven Gospel Choir, is bound to Pisa Gospel Festival 2010, which was staged at the Convention Centre on 11 December. The proceeds of the evening were donated all'AGBALT and has beenused to decorate the rooms of the residence.

We wish, therefore, once again thank our audience for accepting the invitation and sharing with us this exciting blend of music and solidarity.

We thank the Friends of Sunshine Gospel Choir of Turin and Joyful Gospel Ensemble of Leghorn who participated in the Pisa Gospel Festival.
